Pay our gratuities, retired Bauchi Khadis beg Gov Abubakar

Retired judges of the Bauchi State Sharia Court of Appeal and High Court have made passionate appealed to the Bauchi State Government to be fair and just to them by paying them their gratuities, saying none payment of the gratuity which had pilled up between four to ten years is affecting their wellbeing.

Speaking in Bauchi, Retired Khadis Mohammed Shua’ibu and  Aminu Halliru said some of them spent between four to ten years without gratuity which had put them in a very difficult condition, adding that many of their retired colleagues had died while others who were seriously sick could not take care of themselves.

Khadi Mohammed Shua’ibu said “look at my condition I am sick for the last one year I am walking with stick, my wife is supposed to undergo surgery in India, we are battling to raise money to send her to India, my learned brother, Khadi Ibrahim Sallama died six years ago after he retired. He told me that he was paid five million before he died, he left three wives and over 20 children”.

Khadi Aminu Halliru on his part  appealed  to the Governor to look in to their  plights  and bail them out of the predicament, adding that the recent release of Paris Club fund had raised their hope and begged the state government to remember them whenever the money was being disbursed.

Effort to get the comment of the State Chairman, Pension Board, failed as Nigerian Tribune  that the leadership of the board was dissolved and new  board was yet to be constituted but a reliable  source in the  board confirmed  the retirees’ plight, saying their benefits was to the tune of over 400 million.
