For more than two months, talks about the concert had rent the air and topped discussions within and outside Ibadan, with many people in the social circle already looking forward to the day that would bring together heavyweights in gospel, Fuji and Juju on the same stage.
It has been the whole plan of Femi Solar, one of the most influential Juju singers in the South-West to stage a show that would redefine his music career and put Ibadan on the map, hence his decision to set up a team of media experts and event organisers that would make the dream come true.
Speaking ahead of the maiden concert, the host, Femi Solar described the event as one that residents of Ibadan and its environs will not forget in a hurry as he confirmed that not less than 20 music stars would be on hand to thrill the people in a special way.
The event which is split into three, will begin on June 12 with a public lecture on Juju Music as a tool that enhance national development, at the Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan; on June 13, Femi Solar will host some media executives to a dinner where they will rub minds on the maiden event and what the people should expect.
According to the organisers, the event will take a new twist at what is tagged as an Evening with Femi Solar/New album listening party at the Mauve 21 lounge. On June 17, the concert will take the centre stage at Jogor Centre as top Nigerian artistes and comedians will, in quick successions, rock the city.
Yinka Ayefele, Lanre Teriba, Laff Up, Odunlade Adekola, Dr Smile, Woli Arole, Woli Agba, Gbenga Adeyinka, Taye Currency, Femo Lacanster, Adegbodu Twins, among other entertainers, will be on hand to spice up the day.
