Pastor Kunle Ajayi is a star —Ambode

Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has described music legend and renowned saxophonist, Pastor Kunle Ajayi, as a rare gem and a star who has been using his talent to glorify and connect people to God.

Ambode, who expressed his excitement to be part of the event, described the concert marking the 30 years in ministry of the saxophonist as the most unique.

“… we have gathered to celebrate Jesus in the life of one of our own; a music legend, Pastor Kunle Ajayi. Whether we like it or not, Pastor Kunle Ajayi is a star. God has made him a star. 30 years on stage is an outstanding achievement.

“He is a role model to all Nigerian youths, especially with the combination of what he has put in place for this event. He is not just and entertainer, but a multi-talented musician and is willing to give back to humanity through all the things that he has achieved. He is a source of hope and an inspiration to all of us, not just through his music, but his life testimonies. He decided to be blowing his sax for God, by inspiring people. He is also committed to impact lives through is PKA Music Academy, an initiative that will take more of our youths off the street and discover their God-given talents.

“These are the kinds of initiatives that we must all embrace. Our administration will continue to support music, arts and culture, because it is a veritable instrument to address youth unemployment, and also grow the economy of the state.

“On my part and on behalf of the government, we will support the PKA Music Academy and look forward to the academy creating greater talents,” Ambode added.

The event which was held at the Eko Hotel was graced by dignitaries, including the wife of the General Overseer (Worldwide) Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye; Lagos State governor’s wife, Mrs Bolanle Ambode; former governors, Donald Duke and Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Remi Tinubu, Barrister Segun Awolowo.

Tosin Martins, Shola Allyson, Nathaniel Bassey, Beejay Sax, Mike Aremu, among other gospel musician also ‘stormed’ the event.

One of the highpoint of the event was the classy displays of saxs, trumpets, flutes by the celebrant and various musicians, as Evangelist Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, Beejay Sax, Bassey and RCCG One Hallelujah record label artistes performed with PKA respectively.
