Our partnership with KOICA yielding results —FCT Perm sec

THE Permanent Secretary of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, has said that the Federal Capital Territory Administration is reaping tremendous benefits from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as a result of the robust collaboration between the two agencies.

He made this known in his office in Abuja when the Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Sook Hyun Park, paid him a courtesy visit.

He said: “I want to state unequivocally that the cordial relationship between FCT administration and KOICA is yielding immense fruits across all fronts”.

Ohaa said the KOICA’s huge investments in advancing the course of education in the FCT was one of the key areas that the FCT administration was benefiting from the agency, adding that the administration was deeply impressed with the performance of Agency.

“Your investment in the education sector in FCT is quite wonderful, and the highest investment one can make in life is investing in education. When you invest in education, you liberate people from bondage. We are very happy with KOICA”, he stated.

Reacting to the December deadline for the completion of the Korean Model School being constructed by KOICA, the Permanent Secretary assured the agency that the FCT administration would ensure that the December target was met.

Mr. Ohaa explained that the impact of the school would be greatly felt by residents of the territory in view of its world class standard.

He further commended the agency for its commitment towards ensuring that FCT teachers were at par with their contemporaries across the globe by    investing in training and retraining of teachers on regular basis.

Ohaa expressed optimism that the relationship between the FCT administration and the agency would remain strong, stressing that the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, cherished the cordial relationship between the agency and the FCT administration.

Earlier, the Country Director, Sook Hyun Park, explained that the essence of the visit was to keep the PS abreast with the state of work so far done as regards the FCT Model School being built by the KOICA and also to reiterate the commitment of the agency to ensure that the school was ready for use in December.
