Paris Club: Al-Makura approves N300 million for payment of gratuity, pension

NASARAWA State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has approved the sum of N300 million for the payment of gratuity and pension for retirees and families of deceased staff of the state civil service.

The State Head of Service, Thomas Ogiri disclosed this on Monday, in Lafia, the State Capital during a press conference.

According to Ogiri, those to benefit are; widows and widowers of dead staff, the sick and aged, people living with disabilities among others.

He explained that, the money was sourced from the Paris Club remittance that accrued to the state and made possible via the governor’s prudent management of scarce resources.

The Head of Service added that, a committee consisting of two teams has been constituted to commence payment in cheques from Wednesday, April 12.

He, however, urged beneficiaries to come along with national identity card, original copy of retirement, letter of administration for heirs of deceased persons
