PANDYEF lauds Tinubu’s intervention in Rivers crisis

Published by

The Pan Niger Delta Youths Empowerment Forum (PANDYEF) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fatherly interventions in the Rivers State political crisis, which has unfortunately brought a negative spotlight on the state and the South-South region at large.

The commendation was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists in Awka on Wednesday by the forum’s spokesperson, Mazi Chika Art Adiele.

They enjoined the President to ensure lasting peace in Rivers State for the greater good of Nigeria.

According to Mazi Adiele, “It is our belief that Mr President has the capacity to ease the escalation of political tension and ensure lasting peace and security without further delay, due to the pivotal role Rivers State plays in our nation’s economy as the goose that lays the golden eggs.”

The PANDYEF frowns at the unfortunate political spectacle that these avoidable crises have generated nationwide, describing it as a huge distraction to the smooth running of state affairs.

“Interestingly, the good people of Rivers State are the victims of this unending power play, as nothing can be more painful than seeing citizens suffer as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling, which ordered the seizure of federal allocations that rightly belong to them. As we all know, when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers.”

“Therefore, we plead with all the concerned stakeholders to continue to rally round Mr President in a bid to proffer the best solution to end the political crisis in Rivers State as soon as possible,” the statement concluded.
