COURT
A 35-year-old painter, Alex Muba, who allegedly absconded with his customer’s N27,000, on Monday appeared in a Karmo Grade 1 Court.
The police charged Muba, who resides in Utako Mechanic village Abuja, with criminal breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecution counsel, Mrs Ijeoma Ukagha, told the court that the matter was reported at the Utako Police Station on Aug. 9 by Felix Andotan of the same address.

Ukagha informed the court that sometime in July the complainant paid Muba N27, 000 to repaint his metal burglary proof gate.
She alleged that Muba collected the said money and dishonestly disappeared to an unknown destination and converted the said money to his own use.
The prosecutor alleged that during police investigation, the defendant confessed to the crime and all effort to recover the money proved abortive.
Ukagha said the offence contravened the provisions of sections 312 and 322 of the Penal Code.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Alhaji Inuwa Maiwada, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N50, 000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 9 for hearing.
