The Senior Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, said the late Ayo Adebanjo laboured all his life for the new Nigeria he had dreamt of, which Chief Obafemi Awolowo handed over to him.
Pastor Bakare stated this while paying a condolence visit to the deceased’s family on Saturday in Lagos.
He said the passion for the dream cannot be put into short sentences.
Bakare assured that his legacies from the Action Group, UPN, SDP, AD, and NADECO would be treasured for a better society.
This was just as he described the deceased as a freedom fighter for others, not for personal aggrandisement.
“He laboured all his life for a new Nigeria he had dreamt of, which Chief Obafemi Awolowo handed over to him.
“The passion with which he carried it cannot be put into short sentences.
“We continue to treasure all he did in the Action Group, UPN, SDP, AD, NADECO and in everything he did so we can have a better society.
“He was a freedom fighter for other people, not for personal aggrandisement or what he could get out of it,” he said.
