P Tee Money rewarding African entertainers with AFMA

The African Film & Music Award (AFMA), become an epoch event in the city of London and its environs since its debut three years ago.

The AFMA event comes in form of a film and music award festival, primarily to celebrate the musical and film achievements of both past and present African stars, and since the maiden edition, the event has remained in the consciousness of entertainment buffs and aficionados.

The pioneer of the AFMA initiative, Prince Thompson Iyamu, otherwise known as P Tee Money, has discovered his undying passion for music at a very young age, drawing influence from a variety of genres, and especially from frontline performing artistes of yore like George Duke and Earth, Wind & Fire.

From his love of music, he eventually settled down in Progressive House, the genre that he connected with most. His productions cut across a wide range of electronic music styles, from House, Deep House, Indie-dance, Progressive, Future, Afro-pop and Chill out, just to mention a few.

Aside being a prolific musical artiste, P Tee Money is also a published author, an ex-fashion model, who also made some rounds in the acting world, playing sensitive roles in popular motion pictures like the popular blockbuster, “The Mummy 1&2 “, among others. P Tee Money began his career as a Dee Jay in the early 90s, performing dexterously on the wheels-of-steel in nightclubs and other small gigs, from where he later squared up with Nigeria’s female rap artiste, Weird MC, popularly known as The Rappatainer, and were both making waves all over the UK and Europe for a couple of years, as a dynamic and very superlative duo. In the late 90s and early 2000s, P Tee Money, for one reason or the other, put his DJ/Music career on hold and went into acting. He juggled between acting and modeling for a number of years and in 2015, he launched his first book, entitled The Players Code, which was a huge success. Since then, P Tee Money has written multiple books and still counting.

Reiterating the need for AFMA and its attendant aims, P Tee Money said: “Our mission is to appreciate the efforts that have been made by past film and music practitioners and to inspire upcoming actors, actresses, musicians and film practitioners who are thriving in the African film and music industry, with the AFM Award, with the sole and primary objectives of pro-actively ensuring that film and music practitioners such as film actors, actresses, musicians in the African film and music industry are given the accolades they richly and meritoriously deserve; and by so doing we intend to portray to the world the beauty of African film and music. We intend to make the AFM Awards one of a kind; an award that everyone in the African film and music industry will be craving to have.”
