Oyo workers can get housing loans in one week, Commissioner

Civil servants in Oyo state can access housing loans after one week of applying, state Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Survey, Mr Isaac Omodewu disclosed on Thursday.

Omodewu who stated this at State Secretariat, Ibadan, added that the housing loans had also been doubled across the various levels of the civil service.
The disclosure means previous workers across levels can now access loans ranging from N800,000 to N2 million from a previous range of between N400,000 and N1 million.
He explained that the state considered the new developments to engender more comfortable living for her workers.
Furthermore, he admonished owners of houses without building plan, survey plan and certificate of occupancy to avail themselves of the opportunity (promo) to get all those documents at N120,000 within the next three months.
Omodewu, who spoke alongside other officials of the ministry and Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun, also avowed that the state will release all outstanding Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) starting from November.
He emphasised that the ministry processed C’s of O in 60 days.
Also speaking, he enjoined residents of the state to apply for government’s land at N10,000, adding that various housing units were also available for occupancy at various Government Reserved Areas across the state.
He further stated that the state was all out to stamp out instances of land grabbing, through strict implementation of the law against land grabbing and the use of a task force.
