Oyo State Govt. solicits cooperation of workers’ unions

The Oyo State Government has asked workers’ unions across the state to give full support as well as assistance to the government towards achieving desirable results in the ongoing state Public/Civil service restructuring in order to evolve a more efficient system in public service delivery to the citizenry.

The state Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Soji Eniade made the call recently while receiving the new executive members of the state chapter of Trade Union Congress (TUC) led by its Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Ogundiran.

Eniade reiterated that the ongoing certificate verification exercise covered every nook and cranny of the Public /Civil in the state to sanitize the system and return its lost glory, stressing that the verification is not meant to witch-hunt anybody.

He appealed for mutual understanding between the unions and government especially during this period of recession which has brought a lot of challenges to both the state and the country.

The HoS urged the workers’ unions to always embrace dialogue and get facts and figures before engaging government in any negotiation so as to meet their demands.

“I want to solicit for the support of TUC and other unions to first and foremost avail ourselves with facts and figures before going to negotiation table with our demands to government” Eniade said.

While congratulating the new executive members of the TUC, the HoS assured them of maximum support and consequently charged them to educate and organize training programmes for their members to enhance productivity.
