The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo state, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) has congratulated a former governor of the state, Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja over his recent court victory in a graft suit filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
Ayorinde on Saturday stated that “I congratulate former governor Rashidi Ladoja and former finance commissioner, Waheed Akanbi on their acquittal by the Federal High Court on graft charges. I had closely monitored the trial over the years and have read some aspects of the judgement. No one will doubt that the trial judge, Justice Idris now of the Court of Appeal has a sterling reputation for uprightness.

“The judgement clearly exposes the penchant for putting people on trial for the purpose of political victimisation and media embarrassment rather than painstakingly investigating crimes before rushing to the court.
“I salute the courage of His Lordship in upholding the rule of law amidst the mob mentality that has and is being foisted on Nigeria by the powers that be,” Ayorinde stated.
