Oyo PCRC honours Sanusi, wife

THE Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Oyo State chapter, has announced renowned businessman and philanthropist, Chief Dotun Sanusi and his wife, Joyce, its patron and matron.

The couple was decorated earlier in the week at a ceremony held at the indoor sports complex of Ilaji Hotels and Resort, Akanran, Ibadan, a facility owned by Chief Sanusi.

The state chairman of the PCRC, Reverend Peter Omofoye, said the decision of the committee was borne of Sanusi’s contributions to the security of lives and property in the state.

Rev. Omofoye described the honorees as lovers of public safety who are always ready to change the environment for the better.

He noted that the only way to improve the security system in Nigeria was to embrace community policing and added that all hands must be on deck in guaranteeing the security of all and sundry.

The PCRC Chairman called on well to do people in the state to copy the example of Chief Sanusi by supporting the efforts of the police in combating crime in the state.

Chief Sanusi described the honour as a motivation to do more in serving humanity, particularly in the area of securing lives and property.

The honuoree, was recently installed as the Mogaji of Olugbade Compound, Oja’ba, Ibadan, by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, identified cooperation between the citizens and the police as an important factor in overcoming the lingering security challenges in the country.
