BARELY two years to the expiration of his second term in office, Alhaji Abiodun Jimoh has been removed as the chairman of National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN), Oyo State chapter.
His removal was officially pronounced at an enlarged meeting of the state chapter of the association held at the House of Chief, Secretariat Ibadan recently.
The meeting was attended by the state executives, the 33 local government chairmen and secretaries, and all the zonal chairmen and secretaries.
The communiqué released after the meeting disclosed that Alhaji Jimoh was sacked after he was found guilty of high-handedness.
In his stead, the vice chairman of the association, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Olaniyan, is to act as the chairman pending the time an election will be conducted to elect new officers.
In his reaction to the development, Jimoh debunked the allegation levelled against him and declared the action was null and void.
Meanwhile, the national executive of the body has dispatched its Disputes and Legal Committee to Ibadan to mediate on the issue.
Chief Adeolu Ogunbanjo heads the committee.
The committee, after its assignment in Ibadan, urged members to sheathe their sword, assuring them that their observations would soon be passed to the National Executive Council, who will take the final decision on the matter.
