In his quest to support the agro-business initiative of the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, the Political Head/Administrator, Ibadan West local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi commissioned the Omititun 2.0 day-old chicks market at Gbekuba, Apata, Ibadan on Monday.
Adigun while speaking with the journalists at the occasion said this initiative embarked upon by his administration is the first of its kind by any LCDA in Oyo state.
He noted that his desire to ameliorate problems facing citizens under his watch prompted him to relocate the day-old chicks market at oluyole to this new location where life will be very comfortable for the market people and business transaction will go on smoothly.
Baba Oja, expressing his gratitude to Governor Makinde for his visionary leadership in the state which is propelling others in leadership positions in Oyo state to follow his footprints of people oriented projects and programs.
He, however, advised all the citizens that will be transecting business in the market to dwell in unity, most especially the members of day-old chickens merchant association of Nigeria.
Earlier, Adigun advised the people of the LCDA to take personal hygiene, cleaning of their houses, environment and avoid open defecation seriously so as to prevent the spread of cholera outbreak which is recently discovered in the council Area.
He gave this advice while flagging off the fumigation exercise at Oke Bola primary health centre and chlorination of wells across the length and breadth of the council area.
