Oyo health ministry begins recruitment exercise

IN  bid to allow maximum inclusiveness for all job seekers, the Ministry of Health, Oyo State began recruitment exercise on Wednesday.

The Computer Based Test (CBT), which took place in three separate centres; Oyo State College of Health, Science and Technology, Oyo State School of Nursing, Eleyele, Ibadan and The Polytechnic I.C.T centre, Ibadan, witnessed a huge turnout, with over fourteen thousand applicants who registered for the examination.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr Bashir Bello, who spoke during a monitoring visit with his team to the centres, noted that the Oyo State government decided to provide opportunities for employment seekers so as to  recruite them into various fields.

“The centres were four initially but were reduced to three due to technical problems encountered with the computers,”the commissioner, represented  by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Matters, Dr Funmi Salami, revealed.

The commissioner however reassured the affected test-takers of writing their exams on Monday,  February 17, 2020.

In one of the centres, the Oyo State College of Health, Science and Technology, newsmen gathered that the conduct of the tests went unhindered and interrupted.

In another centre, challenges were encountered with the wrong spelling of the names of some applicants.

The commissioner further instructed that the problem be fixed by ensuring the  re-arrangement of the names.

One of the invigilators who supervised the conduct of the examination lamented that about 60 per cent of the test-takers were unlearned in the use of computers.
