Oyo govt to investigate Ibadan building collapse

Oyo State Government has disclosed that it would investigate the collapsed building that claimed the lives of no fewer than 10 persons at Jegede Olunloyo in the Ona-Ara local government area on Thursday.

Governor Seyi Makinde disclosed this known in his condolence message to the families of the has mourned the deaths of victims of the victims as well as to the families of PDP chieftains, Hon. Babatunde Eesuola and Mr Taoreed Adedigba, who passed away during brief illnesses.

Governor Makinde said the decision of the government to investigate the tragic incident became imperative to prevent a future occurrence in any part of the state.

He described the building collapse as an avoidable tragedy, praying to God to console the families of the deceased.

In a similar development, the governor commiserated with the PDP families in Oyo Federal Constituency and Akinyele Local Government over the deaths of Eesuola and Adedigba.

Eesuola was a former House of Assembly member and former chairman of the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency, while Adedigba was the immediate past chairman of Akinyele Local Government.
