Oyo govt receives Olakulehin nomination letter as 43rd Olubadan

The Oyo state government has confirmed that it has received the nomination letter of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Segun Olayiwola, confirmed this in a telephone interview with the Nigerian Tribune on Monday.

He said, “We have received the letter. We are working on it.

The kingmakers, led by Otun Olubadan and High Chief Rasidi Ladoja, held a meeting at Oja “ba Palace and nominated Oba Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan.

The outcome of the meeting is supposed to be forwarded to Governor Seyi Makinde in accordance with the 1957 Declaration for final approval.

The meeting was held twenty-eight days after the demise of the late Oba Senator Lekan Balogun.
