Oyo education sector poised for tremendous change under Makinde ― SUBEB Chair

The newly appointed Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Adeniran, resumed office on Wednesday, assuring that the state’s education sector was poised for tremendous change in the shortest possible period.

Noting that this resolve was evidenced in Governor Seyi Makinde’s promise to commit at least 10 per cent of its budget to education, Adeniran assured that several policies will be geared to improve the sector.

Adeniran who gave this assurance while addressing staff members of the board, further assured that the welfare of public and civil servants will be accorded utmost priority.

In committing to staff welfare, Adeniran assured that board members will get their entitlements as and when due.

While promising to run an open-door policy, he tasked them on diligence and commitment to their duties in the interest of overall progress and development of the state.

“Engr. Seyi Makinde’s Government will dedicate nothing less than 10 per cent of the budget to education.

“All you need do as members of staff of this important agency is to give your best to achieve maximum progress. The present administration has shown from the start that it is going to be more action than talk.

“Your welfare and other needed input from the government will not elude you. Just be dedicated and do all towards the betterment of academic excellence in the State,” Adeniran said.

Responding on behalf of staff members, acting Executive Secretary, SUBEB, Mr Olusanjo Adeniyi promised that officers at SUBEB would key into all policies of the state government.
