Oyo APC delegate, one other die in auto crash in Ogbomoso

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and delegates to the last Saturday National Convention in Abuja and one other person have lost their lives in an auto crash around Caretaker area, Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

An articulated truck, as reliably informed, overran the motorbike otherwise known as okada in which they were riding at the Caretaker area along the Ilorin-Ogbomoso expressway.

Tunde, nicknamed Tunde Aluta who celebrated his 49th birthday on Monday was a state delegate to the just concluded APC convention in Abuja.

An eyewitness account stated that the victims were returning from a meeting at the Idi Abebe area when the incident happened.

Our correspondent gathered that Tunde who was said to be a youth leader of the party in the town died on the spot while Sabitu died at an undisclosed hospital.

A friend of one of the deceased who preferred anonymity said, “We are still in shock over the news of the death of Tunde. It is hard to believe that somebody who just celebrated his birthday would die like that. God knows best.

Our source disclosed that Sabitu has since been buried according to Islamic rites while the remains of Tunde will be committed to the mother earth, today, Wednesday.
