Oyo APC chieftain, Akinlabi justifies ratification of Abas as acting chairman

Chief Akinyemi Akinlabi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has defended the ratification of Alhaji Olayide Abas as the Acting State Chairman of the party.

In a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Tuesday in Ibadan, Akinlabi described Abas’s appointment as divinely ordained, noting that Abas had not anticipated the position but was selected due to his longstanding contributions to the party.

According to Akinlabi, Abas’s previous role as Deputy State Chairman, combined with his integrity, loyalty, and discipline, significantly influenced his ratification as the acting chairman.

“These qualities have earned him the trust and respect of party leaders and members alike, making him a natural choice for the position,” Akinlabi remarked.

He also praised the APC leadership for adhering to the party’s constitution during the leadership transition, ensuring a smooth and principled process. Akinlabi commended the party for placing the right individual, who has consistently demonstrated dedication and loyalty, at the helm of affairs.

Expressing confidence in Abas’s leadership, Akinlabi highlighted his potential to strengthen the party and promote unity among its members.

“His track record of discipline and commitment will undoubtedly inspire confidence and lay a strong foundation for future successes within the party,” Akinlabi added.

He called on all APC factions to rally behind Alhaji Abas and offer their full support. Akinlabi urged members to set aside differences and work together under Abas’s leadership to build a more unified and resilient party.

Akinlabi concluded by expressing optimism that Abas’s tenure as Acting Chairman would herald a new era of progress and development for the APC in Oyo State.
