Oyetola will build on Aregbesola’s legacies ―Health Minister

THE Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has assured residents and people of the state of Osun that the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in the September 22 gubernatorial election in the state, Gboyega Oyetola, will consolidate on the infrastructure and legacies of the outgoing governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Adewole, an Ijesa born technocrat turned politician made this disclosure when he paid a solidarity visit of support and loyalty to the Ilerioluwa office of the Gboyega Oyetola campaign organization in Osogbo on Monday.

“Over time, I have convinced myself that we need someone who can build on the infrastructure Ogbeni has already put in place, one who can continue with a good speed and in the right direction and I’m happy the larger percentage of the APC members found you worthy, I have no doubt in my mind that you will perform excellently well on assumption of office, by the special grace of God.

“In this contest, there’s no winner, there’s no vanquish. And I am happy you have kick-started the process of reconciliation which is a good attribute of sportsmanship, as the presence of other co – aspirants like Dr. Ismail Saka-Layonu and Chief Olugboyega Alabi in your office today is a testament of your humility which is second to none, we must all work together to win the coming election . What endeared me to you is your large, magnanimous heart for selfless service and your good understanding of governance,” Adewole stated.

The Health Minister concluded that, “I have come today to pledge my support and loyalty to our party, APC, as I will support this project wholeheartedly, while I will use this medium to thank Mr. Governor, our party chairman and the leaders of the party across the state for the steadfastness in steering the ship of the state. And I charge us all to deliver Osun not only to ourselves but deliver it in September 2018 and the 2019 elections.

While reacting to the direct primary method initiated by the national headquarters of the APC to elect the flag bearer in Osun, Adewole said our party members have a vital role to play in giving a platform to the candidate. I personally went round some of the local governments during the APC Governorship primary and I can tell you that it really energized the power base of the party, the turnout was massive and members of the party was enthusiastically involved which will, in turn, strengthen their commitment and deepen participatory democracy.
