Oyetola mobilises contractors back to sites of road construction

Published by

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has approved the release of substantial funds to mobilise contractors back to project sites in continuation of efforts to keep faith with his electioneering promises made to the teeming populace of the state.

As a result of the intervention, RATCON and Sammnya Construction Companies have resumed work on the long stretch of the Gbongan – Ode Omu – Akoda – Osogbo – Ikirun – Ila Odo Kwara boundary expressway respectively, which are part of the legacy projects birthed and conceptualised by the immediate past administration of Rauf Aregbesola in the last eight months of his administration.

The State Ministry of Works and Transport officials led by its Supervisor, Engr. Remi Omowaiye, during an assessment tour of the sites, acknowledged that due to paucity of funds which has incapacitated the completion of projects in record time as envisioned, the government has engaged the contractors in a fruitful discussion with the assurance of maintaining the standard of quality Osun roads and sticking to the road design.

He, however, expressed appreciation to Governor Oyetola for his unwavering commitment and foresight in ensuring speedy completion of all uncompleted road projects within the state, in order to fast track the economic indices that will aid industrialisation of the state for agriculture, manufacturing and commercial activities, as well as mineral exploration.
