National chairman, All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun
Embattled national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has announced his withdrawal from running for the chairmanship of the party at the upcoming National Convention.
He made this announcement at a press conference on Friday in his Abuja home.
“Even though, I had the desire to recontest as National Chairman of the Party, I have decided that it is ultimately in the best interest of the Party for me to withdraw from the race,” Oyeyemi said.
It should be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari has thrown his weight behind new entrant into the race, Adams Oshiomole.
The elective National Convention is scheduled for June 23, 2018.
