Tony Anenih
A former military administrator of Oyo and Taraba states, Prince Amen Oyakhire has described the death of Chief Tony Anenih as a national loss.
Prince Oyakhire in a statement said Chief Anenih’s death “has irreversibly decimated the rapidly declining strength of Nigerian patriots.”
“He lived a decent, peaceful and a diligent life. He was a hero of great intelligence, a consummate strategist, an Icon, a fine Police Commissioner, always clean shaven, a political guru, a legendary philanthropist, a dependable and sincere Arbitrator in.

“He was a major part of anything good in this world. He was a visible expression of God’s glory. Every page in his life openly bore the Signature of God. His demise is the greatest catastrophe that ever befell Uromi Community in Ishan (Esan) Land in recent times. When beggars die no comets are seen but the Heavens themselves blaze forth the death of Princes.
“He held his head high far beyond his colleagues as the highest and finest example of professional decency in the Public Service of Nigeria. He was a source of great inspiration, a virtuous pedigree and a leader of impressive organising skills. He was true in Faith, Words and Deeds. He was modest, unassuming and absolutely innocuous. He never, ever acted beyond reasonable limits of decency. He overtly showed fairness, firmness, patience and self-control. He was eloquently a facilitator of human successes, a residual of wisdom, success compilation, a pragmatic philosopher, a lover of mankind, a Nation Builder and a clear-thinking-headed personality.”
“His exit at 85 years is a sad loss in an inauspicious season. He was a liberal and a devout Christian in Catholicism with robust faith who savoured the tenets of Christianity with malice towards none but with charity for all and a consuming compelling passion for doing good. May God forgive him for any act of imperfection or transgression and admit his lovely and peaceful soul into Paradise,” Oyakhire said.
