Over 2,500 miners, investors, financiers, industry experts expected in London conference ― Minister

MINISTER of State for Mines and Steel Development, Honourable Abubakar Bawa Bwari will, in London, seek to avail leading international mining investors, new investment opportunities available in Nigeria’s mining sector at the 16th edition of Mines and Money London Conference, slated for Monday, November 26 to Wednesday, 28.

In a statement issued and signed by Ishaku Kigbu on behalf of the minister, a copy of which was made available to TribuneOnline in Abuja, on Wednesday, said over 2,500 miners, investors, financiers and industry experts from over 75 countries were expected at the conference.
According to the statement, the minister, who is one of the key personalities at the conference, will use the forum which is the gathering of top international investors in the mining sector to woo senior executives and investors of mining on Nigeria’s mining potentials and opportunities.
“The Mines and Money London Conference is a leading international conference series for mining investment and capital raising aimed at identifying new investment opportunities in the mining sector.
For 16 years, Mines and Money London has been the definitive meeting place for the entire international mining and financial community with this year’s edition planned to go a step further with an opportunity for miners, investors and financiers to brainstorm on a roundtable one-to-one basis.
“With over 2,500 miners, investors, financiers and industry experts from over 75 countries, the minister who will speak on Tuesday, November 27, aims to use the window achieve a renewed deal-making and unparalleled networking in line with the present administration’s resolve to use the solid minerals sector to diversify Nigeria’s economy and ensure job creation.
“Nigeria’s participation at the conference will strategically serve as a veritable signal to the international mining community on Nigeria’s economic policy priorities, which focuses on the diversification of Nigeria’s revenue base by repositioning the mining sector for greater productivity.
“It will avail Nigeria the opportunity to showcase her potentials to investors in the area of investment opportunities in the mining sector in Nigeria, the existing incentives and enabling legislation as well as ensure a robust tracking of the competitive activities of other mining countries towards identifying ways through which Nigeria can improve the marketability and competitiveness of our mining industry,” It added.
