The Media Director of Atunse 2018, Mr ‘Niyi Omotoso, has revealed to newsmen that over 20,000 indigenes of Osun state has so far benefited from the free Medical services and several millions naira worth of drugs dispensed to indigenes through the humanitarian services of the Alliance for Democracy Gubernatorial Candidate, Arch Olugbenga Akintola.

Speaking to newsmen at the weekend at the residence of the Alliance for Democracy stalwart, Pa Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa, in Imo, Ilesa, Osun state, Omotoso said that the people of Osun stands to benefit even more of this gestures coupled with improved medical services and welfare packages for health workers in the state once Olugbenga Akintola is voted in as the Executive Governor of Osun state in the forthcoming election slated for September 22, 2018.

“Since 2012 when the medical mission started through Sir Familusi in Imesi , where at least 400 patients are diagnosed with the major disease, Hypertension and Diabetes which are the major killers our people not only in Osun state but all over Nigeria and were attended to every month till now

Several patients’ blood pressures were checked, their blood sugar levels were monitored, and patients requiring intervention are given a free month’s supply medication. Health talks and educational awareness are also provided thus successfully reducing the mortality and the morbidity rate from these two diagnoses over the past in the entire Osun state.

“If as an individual, Olugbenga Akintola, through his foundation, can set up a clinic with an efficient and effective board of Certified Internal Medicine Specialists from the United States with set protocols and medications imported from the United States which is staffed monthly by pharmacists, registered nurses and health technicians who attends to patients every three months by the doctors to review their medications and progress at the approximate cost of the care of one patient is N15,000.00 per year for free and the impact is felt from Ikire to Igbomina, from Ipetu Ijesa to Ejigbo, you can now imagine the drastic transformation the health sector in Osun state would experience once Architect Akintola is voted into power as the executive Governor of the state.

“These drugs costs nothing less than 9,000 naira each and are been distributed through designated hospitals in the state such as the Wesley College in Ilesa. I can authoritatively tell you that in the month of May alone this year, our medical mission had been to Ipetumodu, Ife North Local Government, Ifetedo, Ile Ogbo, Igbomina, Ilesa and other nooks and crannies of the state including the state capital Osogbo.

“They all felt the impact of the medical mission of Olugbenga Akintola Foundation who is ready to do even more by also upgrading the obsolete medical facilities in the states hospitals and also improve the welfare packages of medical personnel in other to encourage our hard working doctors and nurses in all ramifications which would raise the standard of health sector and remain incomparable to other state in Nigeria.”
