Over 10,000 households benefit from Lagos council palliatives

Over 10,000 households have benefitted from the Itire-Ikate LCDA’s food palliatives distribution on Tuesday.

The beneficiaries, according to the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira were drawn from various groups, including the market and artisans association, widows, the elderly, religious bodies, CDC/CDA members, political parties, traditional groups, people with disabilities (PWD), the National Youth Council of Nigeria, and security agencies.

Hon. Apatira, the Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, explained that the distribution was aimed at alleviating economic hardship and enhancing the well-being of residents, particularly the vulnerable members of the community.

He expressed confidence that the palliatives would provide temporary relief and help stimulate economic activity in the council area.

Addressing the beneficiaries, he stated, “Our administration is committed to residents’ welfare, and this is evident in this mega food distribution exercise, another of our initiatives to ease the economic hardship on residents in our district.

“By providing food support palliatives to 10,000 households, we have been able to energise and empower residents while fostering a sense of community.

As we have always done, this distribution exercise was conducted in a transparent and equitable manner, ensuring that it reaches the targeted audience.

“I want to assure residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA that they can expect a fair and efficient distribution process, as well as more dividends of democracy in the future.”
