Over 100 products have signified their intention to participate at the inaugural Consumers Value Awards, as online voting for the inaugural awards commenced this weekend.
The award, a periodic online programme aimed at recognising outstanding contributions of Nigerian entrepreneurs, debuted with the recent unveiling of a platform (website) to gauge consumers’ experiences.
Hosted by Consumer Value Broadcasting, the Consumers Value Awards would serve as a way of recognising consumers’ experiences as a vehicle for distinguishing leading products, services and companies worthy of consumers’ money.
Speaking on the nomination and voting, the Managing Director, Akonte Ekine, said the awards, which feature more than 30 categories covering corporate organisations, technology entrepreneurs and inventors, is intended to acknowledge the commitment of brands to innovation, superior customer service and excellence, are purely decided by public vote within a three-month voting phase.
Some of the categories include banking, telecommunication, beverages, aviation, milk, construction, cooking oil, FMCG, logistics, oil and gas, telecoms infrastructure, internet service providers, and oral care products.
“The voting process requires consumers to visit the portal and vote for their favourite brands based on their experiences, but they can only vote once in each category,” Akonte added.
