Ousmanemajo: From comedy to African cinema visionary

Ousmane Idrissa Abdoulaye, famously known as Ousmanemajo, has undeniably left an indelible mark on the comedy industry, amassing a massive following across all social media platforms.

Recently, he offered insights into his journey in the entertainment world, revealing his beginnings in comedy creation around 2012/13 with a Nigerian friend before continuing solo, particularly in Maradi after his friend’s departure to Turkey.

It was in 2019, upon his return to Niamey, that everything began to take off for him.

When asked about an alternate path, Ousmanemajo disclosed that he harboured a passion for computer science, particularly in editing and directing African films. Despite his comedic success, his love for technology and film remains unwavering.

Looking ahead, the comedy sensation shared his ambitious plans to elevate African cinema to global prominence, with a particular focus on his homeland, Niger.

With a vision to rejuvenate the industry’s presence worldwide, Ousmanemajo’s next move signifies a bold step towards reshaping the narrative of African cinema on both local and international stages.
