Ourroot TV, first cultural–tourism station, debuts

Published by

The Nigerian tourism sector is daily witnessing its enhancement not only in the realm of sites development and showcasing of ingredients, but also in the areas of mass communication networking, content branding, marketing platforms for local, global and intercontinental acceptance and embrace.

It gladdens the heart that some stakeholders have decided to put resources together, gather manpower and initiate programme contents for the eventual emergence of a television channel, Ourroot TV, specially devoted to the highlighting of the cultural- tourism and hospitality sector in Nigeria.

Ourroot TV according to Seun John, Managing Director, StarRise Hospitality  Communication Group “is a mass communication platform which utilises the advantage of globalization and contemporary communication apparatuses to midwife the first ever television Channel and station devoted primarily for the promotion of culture, tradition, moral ethics, hospitality and tourism”.

He revealed “Ourroot TV Channel is specifically inaugurated to fill the hiatus of copious reporting of our culture, tradition, pristine values, hospitality centres and tourism. We found out that the existing television channels are not allocating enough time and do not have  comprehensive programmes which tell us why we are who we are in Nigeria.”

Mr John revealed Ourroot TV’s programmes are structured in recognition of the over   280 ethnic groups in Nigeria. We realised that Nigeria is a paragon of spectacular multicultural values and assets which the multi-purpose television stations and channels have little room for. We set out wholly to showcase, highlight, promote and ensure that the positive and brilliant aspect of our culture is exposed for global consumption and acceptance “

He disclosed “we are at present operating on free – to – air NIGCOMSAT, Strong decoder, on Symbol rate; 29500, longitude; 42500on Frequency; 12518/h/29500 and could also be located on other decoders other than DSTV, with our operating station in Badagry and Minna”.

Mr John added “We are proud to announce to the whole world that when it comes to African culture, African tourism sites and African history, no station can beat us to the back. And the only way you can testify to this is for you to watch Ourroot TV live. We are for culture, tourism and hospitality. No station does it better”.
