‘Our society needs godly children’

Published by

A cleric has urged parents to teach their children the act of service unto God, and draw them closer to Him as they journey in this life.

The Children Coordinator of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Ife, Agbowo, Ibadan, Oyo State, Pastor Samuel Ogungbemi, stated this at the Silver Jubilee Children Anniversary with the theme, “For His Mercy Endures Forever,” last Sunday.

He reminded parents of the vision of the children department of the church which aims at nurturing to the full stature of God through Christ, to grow in Christian character, academics, leadership skills and imparting their generations positively.

“We should not forget the vision of the church, which aims at nurturing children to grow into the full stature of God, as they are the leaders of tomorrow, and if we hope for a better society, we need to invest in our children. The world needs godly children; with the way things are going in the country, we as parents need to play our part by raising godly children.

Also speaking at the service, the chairperson, Mrs. Margret Obilade, encouraged parents to release their children for the use of God as it is part of their spiritual worship.

“Parents should release children for the use of God; we should allow them to partake in church activities, as the mercy of God endures forever, we should not take his mercy for granted. These children are God’s gift to us, so we should in turn give them back to God,” she added.
