LESS than 48 hours to the conduct of September 22 governorship poll in Osun, the fierce battle for the soul of the State assumed an interesting dimension on Thursday as the standard bearers of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore, and the flag bearer of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Chief Moshood Adeoti, and their counterpart in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, signed pact on diligent poll.
Addressing a press conference at the premises of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, Osogbo, Omisore, a former chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation clarified that the three opposition parties signed pact after a meeting in Osogbo on Wednesday to tackle alleged plan to rig this Saturday’s poll and forestall discreet plan to intimidate voters.

Speaking on behalf of two other governorship candidates, he said “I don’t want to jump the gun. No merger plan between SDP, ADP and ADC. These parties are on the threshold of different ideologies, the common thing is that the APC led government is a bad phenomenon.”
