President Buhari
PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday charged all the eligible voters and the generality of Osun indigenes, including residents not to cave in to pressures from desperate politicians to take the state back to dark days by voting massively for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola this Saturday governorship poll.
He said Osun had been part of the comity of APC controlled states in Nigeria and should remain so, with a view to permeate steady social and economic developments, which he said, were the hallmarks of the incumbent Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration.
Buhari, who spoke during the grand finale of the APC mega rally ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial poll in Osun also promised to rehabilitate all the federal roads leading to Osun State, including Iwo-Ibadan-Osogbo road in Osun West Senatorial District and Osogbo-Ilobu-Ogbomoso roads, where Ojutu bridge is located.
He expressed optimism that the visible achievements of Aregbesola’s government would speak volume as a precursor for the anticipated victory of Oyetola in forthcoming poll election exercise.
According to Buhari, “APC is Osun State. Today we are here to celebrate the past. On Saturday your love and friendliness are clear for us to see. Some years ago, I was here with so many of you to get support for Governor Aregbesola for a second term. I was in Osun in 2015 for the presidential campaign. I return in October 2016 to commission Osogbo High School, one of the eleven mega schools constructed by Aregbesola.”
He continued, “we are here to thank the Almighty God for the successful eight years of APC government in this state under the leadership of Rauf Aregbesola. We are also here to pray Almighty God to save us and consolidate on this through Isiaka Oyetola. You are feeling our Osun State partnership story. Oyetola is our partner, a trusted person, a brother and a friend to Governor Rauf.”
“For electing Oyetola as your governor, you have a team for consolidation of these successors eight years after Governor Aregbesola. The state has excellent infrastructures for primary and secondary schools. Oyetola is ready to work. We are repairing Ijebu-Ijesa road up through to Ekiti State. We are committed to complete Gbongan-Iwo road and Ojutu bridge in Ilobu”, Buhari remarked.
Speaking during the rally, the former governor of Lagos State and APC national leader, Senator Bola Tinubu said “our party will give you victory on September 22. We will deliver ourselves peacefully and we are committed to giving you value for democracy. We will work for the victory. Thank you for coming Mr President.”
In his remark, Aregbesola maintained that “we are returning Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola as the governor-elect and his deputy, Gboyega Alabi as deputy governorship elect and they would be sworn in on November 27, 2018
