The management of Osun State University, Osogbo, says it has established Global Affairs and Sustainable Institute (GASDI) with the mandate of fast-tracking the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) in the country.
Prof. Victor Adetimirin, the Acting Director of GASDI, in a statement on Sunday in Osogbo, said the institute would address issues of SDGs in a unique and effective way.
“The aim of the institute is to become a centre of excellence in postgraduate teaching and research.

“The institute will also offer Masters and PhDs in sustainable development practice, leadership and governance, peace and conflict studies, among others,” Adetimirin said.
He said that the institute would conduct workshops to improve the efficiency of governmental and non-governmental organisations in the country.
Adetimirin said in keeping with the mandate of the institute, an Inaugural International Symposium on ‘ Agenda 2030 and Global Integration would be held between Tuesday and Wednesday at the university.
He said the symposium was to deepen the discourse and practice of sustainable development in the country.
