Osun Osogbo: Tourist checkpoint

Yoruba cultural values are potentially endowed with festivals, which are of tourism attraction. Basically, Yoruba culture is fun-centered; this is authenticated with the billions of festivals imbedded in the Yoruba societies.  Notable among these festivals is the Osun Osogbo Festival, which attract horde of tourists yearly.

Taking away the festival aspect of the Osun Osogbo, one would be lost in the world of rich tourist artifacts, which comprises of African mysterious arts and religious relics. Myth has it that the river Osun Osogbo serves religious purposes, because it is rumoured that prayers are easily answered.

One is yet to navigate the vast ocean of African arts, traditions and culture, if one, as a tourist, haven’t visited the Osun Osgbo site.

Ancient artifacts, issues and concepts that are believed to be of the past or never existed in the world of mankind are realistically brought to live with the space that constitutes Osun Osogbo.

Osun Osogbo is a home of the custodians of African heritages. Little wonder visiting Osun Osogbo Sacred Grove, Visitor Information Centre, which houses Osun Osogbo historical books, arts and many tourism artifacts.

The fact that Osun Osogbo site is an epitomical symbolism of undiluted African society, which can be used by film producers, actors and actresses to exhibit the true presentation of Africa, prior to the invasion, visit  and settling of the Westerners and Easterners.

Based on the geographical description of the site, Osun Osogbo is a perfect despiction of the biblical Garden of Eden except for the absence of Adam and Eve. Osun Osogbo houses animals belonging to the ape’s family, birds of different spices and antelopes.
