The Osun State Government has assured investors of enabling environment for agricultural development in the state.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Tola Faseru told Tribune Online on Wednesday in an interactive session on hosting over 32 ambassadors in the state.

Faseru said such is in tandem with the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration’s goal of tapping into the opportunities in the sector.

He emphasised the importance of foreign investors from the private sector tapping into Osun State’s abundant potential in the agricultural sector.

The Commissioner outlined the various efforts of the government to remove impediments that have scared away investors from investing their money in the state.

Also Speaking, a principal officer in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, assured potential investors that the state was open for investment and would support their success.

He added, “Osun is an agricultural hub of southwestern Nigeria, with a high ease-of-doing business rating, positive investment climate, and policies promoting agro-industrialisation.

“We’ve tackled our infrastructure deficits and have functioning free trade zones. Osun is open for business.”

Oyewumi conveyed the assurances of Governor Adeleke, of his willingness to receive them in Osun State, stressing that “we acknowledge that we cannot achieve our goals alone, which is why we’re inviting participants from around the world to join us at the Agriculture Investment Conference – Osun 2025.”

Responding, the Tunisian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mohsen Anlit; the Cuban Ambassador to Nigeria, Miriam Morales, and other ambassadors unanimously agreed to visit Osun State and invite their private sector investors and governments to participate in the conference.
