Osun election tribunal sacks PDP lawmaker, orders rerun in 7 units

Published by
The election petition tribunal in Osun, adjudicating over the petition filed against the victory of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ede/Egbedore Federal Constituency, Hon Bamidele Salam in the February 23 National Assembly elections on Monday nullified his election.
The tribunal cancelled elections in seven units across four local government areas citing over voting.
It subsequently ordered rerun in the seven units because, after the cancellation of elections in units where over voting was established, the margin of victory between the winner and the petitioner, Mr Adejare Bello of All Progressives Congress (APC) was lesser than the number of registered voters in the affected units.
