Osun Assembly congratulates Bisi Akande at 79

Osun state House of Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Hon Najeem Salam has congratulated a former governor of the state, Chief Adebisi Akande over his 79th birthday.

The House described Akande as a foremost nationalist who has been able to attain several political offices like; Secretary to the State Government, Deputy Governor both in the old Oyo State and also the Executive Governor of Osun through which he gave the state a solid foundation.

In a statement issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, on Tuesday, the House expressed its delight to join other friends, family and associates of Akande to celebrate him.

It added that “Baba Omo Keekeke” as Akande is fondly called, is no doubt a politician with impact and indeed a man of many parts, who has occupied strategic positions like being the National Chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) as well as being the first and only National Caretaker Committee Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC).

While wishing him a long life and prosperity, the House also wished Chief Akande a good health, noting that he has positively touched lives and added values to Osun State and Nigeria at large.
