A former staff member of the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, Chief Tope Abiola, was among the newly appointed members of non-statutory boards announced by Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Thursday.
Chief Abiola’s appointment as a part-time member of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) was announced in a statement released to the press in Osogbo by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Other appointees by the governor included Chairpersons, Secretaries, and members of the Local Government Education Boards.
The statement also revealed additional appointees for TESCOM, including Dr. Abioye Oyewusi, Oyelakin Sikiru Oyebanjo (full-time), Alh. Yisa Bello Kolawole, and Chief Tope Abiola (full-time).
For various other boards, appointments were made for institutions such as the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke. The newly appointed individuals are Sikiru Adeleke, Hon. Sola Oni, Prince Michael Oladele Aderibigbe, Prince Taiwo Aiyepola, Adeyela Bashiru, Alhaja Raimi Medina, Alhaji Liadi Gbadamosi, and Hon. Bimbo Olukitibi. Similarly, appointments for the University of Ilesa were given to Hon. Wale Olunloye, Prof. Rotimi Tayo, Prof. Adejumoke Adefisoye-Adelowo, Dr. Adetunji Dare, and Prof. Emmanuel Adedapo Akande.
These appointments span across various boards, including UNIOSUN, Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Hospital Management Board, Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) board, Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board, Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Osun Council for Art and Culture, Osun Tourism Board, Osun Internal Revenue, among others.
The Governor, who had earlier appointed Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of the non-statutory boards, urged the new appointees to strictly adhere to the rule of law, due process, and procurement laws in all their endeavours.
He also extended congratulations to them and welcomed them aboard the journey of development and hope for Osun State.
