Osun 2022: I’ll improve education, literacy level if I become gov ―Ayowole

Published by

As the governorship election of Osun State draws closer, one of the contenders under the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) platform, Busuyi Ayowole, said if he is voted as governor, he will improve education and literacy level in the state.

He made this known, on Wednesday, while interacting with some youths under the auspices of the Busuyi Ayowole Group Organisation (BAGO), in Osogbo, the state capital.

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) and University of Lagos (UNILAG) trained civil engineer described himself as the most educated contender among the other contenders for the election.

While revealing some of his policies to the youths, Ayowole stressed the need to practice zero tolerance for illiteracy if the state must develop and progress.

He stated that if he becomes governor, all public schools in the state would be free, with government funding education more in tandem with the original South-west agenda as formulated by the late Yoruba leader, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

Ayowole said it is laughable that those asking to lead Osun do not have what it takes to convert a predominantly civil-service state into an industrial hub, where industries, and not payee taxation, will be the major contributor to the IGR.

“You can’t give what you don’t have,” he said. “Only the educated can make education top priority.”

Ayowole is expected to contest alongside sixteen others for the Osun governorship election come July 2022.
