Faforiji in a press statement forwarded to Nigerian Tribune in Osogbo, on Sunday, maintained that while the party was still ready to reconcile any warring member, it would not condone further acts of impersonation by Ishola.
It would be recalled that Ishola, alongside his secretary, Mr Femi Awe, were suspended few weeks ago by the national leadership of the SDP in Abuja for anti party activities and other misdeeds, capable of thwarting the success of the party, most especially before, during and after the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
However, Faforiji contended that “the new state executives of the SDP in Osun State under my leadership has tolerated the tantrums of Mr Ademola Ishola and Femi Awe, the former state chairman and secretary respectively thus far, because we do not believe to foreclose windows of reconciliation in our preparedness for the coming election.”
According to him, “the SDP is no longer a parlour based entity which it was under the duo, but a vibrant and ever expanding organisation which now has commanding presence in all the units, wards, local governments of Osun State. The national secretariat of our party has written formally to recognise tye current state executive under my leadership”.
“Copies of these letters have be submitted to the state Commissioner of Police, the DSS, NSCDC and INEC accordingly.
But, reacting over the development, Ishola in a release described the SDP under the leadership of Faforiji as group of impostors, arguing that “like we always say, we have laws in our side. There are two court rulings that ascertained the leadership of Ademola Ishola and Elder Femi Awe. The court was very clear that the executive led by Ishola should handle the affairs of the party, Rather, they are the impostors. The congress that allegedly produced them were declared illegal by the court”.
He stated, “the court gave clear order that no congress shall be held both at the ward, local and state level. There was a ruling that they should not do anything. They went ahead, conducted their primary in flagrant disobedience to court rules. Whoever that would be parading themselves as chairmen or executives rather than Ademola Ishola group should be arrested. Nobody is higher and greater than the laws of the land.
