Osinbajo, Sultan of Sokoto, Aregbesola, others to grace Ooni’s birthday

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad, Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, Governor Rauf Aregbesola, of Osun State and other dignitaries are expected to converge on Ile-Ife, on Tuesday, for activities commemorating the 43rd birthday of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

According to a statementby the director of Media and Public Affairs to Ooni, Comrade Moses Olafare, “The annual international symposium was designed in commemoration with the Ooni’s birthday to serve as a platform for beneficiaries of his empowerment schemes to showcase their success stories”.

“Ooni believes that celebration of the birthdays of people in leadership positions must always be in recognition of their impactfulness on the people. That’s what this event represents.To serve as a platform for people to share their success stories, especially the beneficiaries of the Ooni’s various empowerment programs, most whom are youths.”

The symposium, entitled: Taking Nigeria and Africa to a Greater Height, The Place of Youth, will be an annual event where leaders, “who have made impacts in the society will interact with the people who look up to them”.
