ACTING President Yemi Osinbajo returned to Abuja in the wee hours of Wednesday after a visit to ailing President Muhammadu Buhari, in London, on Tuesday.
He is now expected to brief the country on the outcome of the short meeting with the president.
His spokesman, Laolu Akande, disclosed this on his Twitter account @akandeoj, saying that the London meeting was very good.
He said Osinbajo would preside over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) starting by 11:00am on Wednesday.
He tweeted: “AgP Osinbajo now back in Abuja from London & will be presiding over FEC this morning starting @ 11am at the Council Chambers in Aso Rock.
“We will soon share more information about AgP Osinbajo’s London meeting with President Buhari. It was a very good meeting. God bless Nigeria.”
Osinbajo on Tuesday left for London, United Kingdom, for a meeting with President  Buhari.
He jetted out of Abuja soon after presiding over the Quarterly Presidential Business Forum on Tuesday morning at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Akande, had initially denied the trip when he realised that State House correspondents had knowledge of it, saying that the Acting President would only be traveling to Lagos.
But he later confirmed in a tweet on his Twitter handle, @akandeoj that Osinbajo had indeed left for London on the president’s summons without providing details.
However, he said the Acting President would return to Abuja immediately thereafter without also giving specific date.
“AgP Osinbajo meeting with President Buhari in London today, and returning to Abuja immediately afterwards,” Akande had tweeted on Tuesday.
It was expected that he would return to Abuja in time to preside over Wednesday’s to meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
The President left for the United Kingdom on May 7, 2017  on medical vacation over an undisclosed illness.
This followed earlier trip when he spent about 50 days in London over the same ailment.
The Presidency had indicated that there was no definite time for the return of the President as that would be determined by his doctors.
In Buhari’s absence, Osinbajo has been acting with full executive powers with speculation that he was having a running battle with a certain “cabal” in the Presidential Villa.
His trip comes barely 24 hours after wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, indicated on a Facebook post that her husband would soon get rid of “jackals and hyenas” surrounding him.
Aisha is currently in London to attend to her ailing husband.
