Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo is expected to grace the centenary birthday celebration of the traditional ruler of Olomu kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, Ovie Layeghen.
Layeguen whose title is Ogbon Ogoni-Oghoro 1, Ohworode of Olomu is the oldest traditional ruler in the state.
The President-General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) worldwide, Mr Moses Taiga, made this known to journalists on Wednesday during press briefing in Olomu.
Taiga said Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and some of his counterparts in other states would also attend the week-long event.
He said that some traditional rulers from the South-West, South-East, and some emirs in the North have indicated their interest to attend the event.
According to him, the event will commence on Friday, January 13 and endon January 20.
Taiga, who is also the President-General of Olomu kingdom, said 50 Nigerians had been pencilled for chieftaincy titles.
“The Vice President, Professor Osinbajo, Governor Okowa and some other governors will be at the grand reception of the event on January 20.
“The conferment of chieftaincy titles will last for three days, between January 13 and 16.
“There will be a novelty match between Warri Wolves FC and Delta Force FC on January 18 at Otu Jeremi, headquarters of Ughelli South,” he said.
“There will also be a book launch on January 19 and foundation laying stone of the permanent palace of Olomu in Otor-Orere community,” he said.
The traditional ruler, who is marking his 100th birthday is the Chairman of the Urhobo Traditional Council.
