Osaro Onaiwu back on the beat

Published by

Osaro Onaiwo, the Edo State-born politician popularly known as ‘the Earl’ is probably out of retirement.

The man, who announced his intentions to dump politics and chart a new career in the fashion industry, was given a new political assignment by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki a few days ago.

The 59-year-old ‘Earl’ is now a liason officer on State Matters to the Senate President.

Osaro was at a time the Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor’s Forum and he also contested the Edo State governorship seat under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) before calling it quits with active politics and started a fashion outfit.

His new role as Saraki’s liason officer on State matters will see him co-ordinate the relationship between the office of the Senate President and state governments.

The move is seen to be necessary towards the perceived ambition of Dr Bukola Saraki in 2019.
