Governor Samuel Ortom
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commended President Muhamadu Buhari for making June 12 a reality.
Ortom further commended the president for immortalising the presumed winner of June 12 election by naming Abuja National stadium after him.
Ortom in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase also congratulated the new President of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan and Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, as well as their deputies for emerging victorious in yesterday’s National Assembly leadership elections.

He expressed confidence in the ability of Senator Lawan and Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila to effectively steer affairs of the 9th Assembly for the benefit of the entire county.
The governor said that leadership comes from God, citing the Bible book of Job 3:27 which says “A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from Heaven”.
Parts of the statement read, ‘Governor Ortom states that politics is over, and now is the time for all Nigerians to join hands and work towards the unity and development of the country.
“The Governor commends President Muhammadu Buhari for making the declaration of June 12 as Democracy Day a reality, and for immortalising the winner of the 1993 Presidential Election, the late Chief MKO Abiola, by naming the Abuja National Stadium after him.
He prayed to God to continue to bless and protect the unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
