Governor Samuel Ortom on Thursday appointed a University lecturer, Tivlumun Nyitse, as the Chief of Staff as well as 2019 APC senatorial candidate, Mrs Mimi Orubibi, chairman of the board of Internal Revenue Service.
Ortom’s chief press secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur confirmed the two appointments.
It will be recalled that both former Chief of Staff, Terwase Orbunde and Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service, Andrew Ayaban had resigned from appointments on September 30th, 2021 to pursue their political aspirations.
The new Chief of Staff was a retired permanent secretary and governorship aspirant in 2019 and until his appointment a University lecturer.
Mrs Orubibi had also served as the chairman of the state board of Internal Revenue Service before she contested for the Benue North-East senatorial district on the platform of APC in 2019 but lost the election to former governor of the state, Gabriel Suswam.
Orubibi who had just been reappointed as Chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service a few weeks ago decamped to Peoples Democratic Party.
Ikyur who confirmed the appointment in a terse statement said, “the governor has approved the appointment of Dr Tivlumun Nyitse as the Chief of Staff.
“He (governor) has also re-appointed Mrs Mimi Orubibi as executive chairman of Board of Internal Revenue Service.”
