Orlu state creation will make South-East equal with other zones in Nigeria — OPI

The Executive Director of Orlu Progressive Initiative (OPI), Mr Ikechukwu Nwabueze, has stated that the creation of Orlu State from the South-East will make the zone equal with other geo-political zones in the country.

Nwabueze in a statement issued in Owerri on Friday thanked the National Assembly for taking this important decision which is already overdue. 

 He said: “The South-East region must have a balance like other geo-political zones in the country”.

The Executive Director, a native of the Akuma autonomous community in Oru East LGA of Imo State, further stated that the state creation will bring development not only in Orlu but in the entire South-East zone.

He applauded the two illustrious sons of Orlu Zone, Sen. Osita Izunaso representing Orlu senatorial zone who earlier presented the bill on the floor of the Senate and Hon Ikenga Oguchinyere representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representative and other colleagues who made the move.

He said: “I have a strong belief that the Senate and Federal House of Representatives will further pass the bill for national growth and inclusion.

Nwabueze prayed that the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would ascent to the bill whenever legislative input is over and make it an act thereby writing his name in history.
