In bid to reward him for his profound effort in promoting the entertainment industry, as well as his contributions to his community, the traditional ruler of Ijebu Ijeshaland in Osun State and entire community have commenced preparations to honour legendary musician, Orlando Julius Ekemode and his amiable wife, Latoya Aduke, with chieftaincy titles.
The couple, who have made an indelible impact in music, touring the whole of Europe and North America for more than three decades, will in March be conferred as Gbelunuyi of Egboroland, Ijebu Ijesha and as Yeye Asa of Egboroland, Ijebu Ijesha.
The multi-instrumentalist septuagenarian said: “it is a great honour that the Oba of Egboroland will be honouring me and my wife with top chieftaincy titles for our impact not only in global music, but also on the landscape of Ijeshaland.
This is an honour which myself and my wife, Latoya appreciates a great deal. We thank the oba and his chiefs.”
